Beschreibung

The seminar aims to impart knowledge of basic concepts and methods for depicting the relationships between society and the environment. By comparing the different approaches, students learn to assess the respective strengths and weaknesses in terms of sustainability - especially with regard to the analysis of current challenges in society-environment relations and the development of options for action to meet them. The seminar also emphasises the need for interdisciplinary, systemic approaches and the consideration of complexity in society-environment systems. Skills are taught to critically assess different concepts and to choose appropriate approaches to address an issue, as well as to develop integrated descriptions of a subject area in interdisciplinary groups.
