Freshmen
We are pleased that you have decided for a course of studies at our department. On this page you will find various pieces of information which might be of interest for freshmen in particular.
Even before the actual studies start there are some offers which are to enable an optimal course of studies:
- The Preliminary Course addresses freshmen at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics and Cognitive Science. It is aimed at providing an introduction to higher mathematics and easing the change-over from school to studies
- The Introductory Week for Freshmen is meant to present some information and the infrastructure of the University of Osnabrück, which might be interesting for a course of study. Please see the homepage of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Especially when you start your studies various questions come up, such as ‘How do I work on a practise sheet?’ or ‘How do I give a seminar talk? Prof. Dr. Manfred Lehn (Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz) has written some helpful texts regarding these questions:
