Blinkende Lichter, dramatische Soundeffekte, fesselnde Multi-Ball-Action: In unserem Praktikum wollen wir einen beliebten Arcade-Klassiker neu interpretieren und in Retro-Glanz oder futuristischem Neonlicht erstrahlen lassen.
Am Beispiel der Erstellung eines virtuellen Flipperautomaten werden in diesem Praktikum Methoden der Computergrafik praktisch angewendet und Fähigkeiten im gemeinsamen Entwickeln von Software vertieft.
Das Projekt wird in C++ zu realisieren sein. Große Frameworks oder Engines (Unity, Unreal) lassen wir außen vor und kümmern und um alles wesentliche selbst, ggf. unter Einsatz kleinerer Libraries. Ein Auffrischen der C++ Grundlagenkenntnisse vor Beginn des Praktikums kann also hilfreich sein.
Beispielhafte Herausforderungen werden sein: attraktives Rendering, Erstellung eines interaktiven Editors zur Spielfeldgestaltung, Erzeugung von Assets, robuste Physik-Simulation. Die Bearbeitung erfolgt in einem vierwöchigen Block in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit im März 2024. Die Bewertung basiert auf der Mitarbeit, dem produzierten Code, einem kurzen Praktikumsbericht und einer finalen Präsentation der erreichten Ergebnisse.
