La possession constitue un des concepts fondamentaux de toute langue. Malgré cette universalité, les langues diffèrent entre elles dans les moyens d’expression utilisés : l’expression de la possession peut se servir de verbes, d’adjectifs, de pronoms et de prépositions ; et les différents types d’expression coexistent souvent dans une même langue.
Dans ce cours nos nous concentrerons sur cinq aspects particuliers de la possession en français
- les paradigmes morphologiques des pronoms/adjectifs possessifs ("mon" vs "mien")
- le contraste entre les prépositions "de" et "à" dans l’expression de la possession ("la maison de Pierre", "la voiture à moi")
- l’expression de la possession par le recours à une syntaxe nominale particulière de juxtaposition (l’état construit)
- l’expression de la possession au niveau du syntagme verbal avec les noms inaliénables ("Jean s’est cassé le bras" ; "Jean a levé le doigt")
- l’emploi du verbe possessif avoir dans l’expression des temps composés.
